Use Terms

Policy: Terms of Use Applies to: Geo-Maps.net website and catalog Effective: 2025-12-22 Mode: Reference service

Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Geo-Maps.net (“the Site”). The Site provides a freight-focused atlas catalog: map-indexed operational reminders, lane notes, and planning prompts. The Site is offered as a reference library and does not provide live navigation, real-time compliance determinations, or guarantees of current conditions. By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

Atlas Margin — the core condition

The atlas is a reminder system. It is designed to help you ask the right questions and document the right cues. It is not designed to replace official sources, posted signage, shipper/receiver instructions, or carrier safety policy. Your use must reflect that distinction.

1) Reference posture and disclaimers

The Site content is provided “as is” and “as available.” While we aim to keep the atlas structured and useful, conditions change. Municipal rules may evolve, enforcement emphasis may shift, toll programs may update terms, facilities may change gate procedures, construction may introduce temporary constraints, and weather may alter corridor suitability. Therefore, the Site does not warrant that content is complete, accurate, current, or fit for any particular operational purpose.

You are responsible for verifying restrictions, permitting requirements, access windows, and safety constraints using official sources and posted signage. You are responsible for complying with applicable laws and regulations, and for following your organization’s policies. Where the Site suggests “verification cues,” those cues are planning prompts and do not constitute legal or compliance advice.

2) Permitted use

You may use the Site for internal planning, dispatch briefing, safety review, and operational education. You may share links to sheets internally and cite sheet names and review stamps in dispatch notes. You may not misuse the Site in ways that create unreasonable risk, violate law, or undermine the integrity of the catalog.

Permitted examples

  • Using a sheet as a pre-trip checklist to verify access windows and staging plans.
  • Training dispatchers to include documentation cues for toll segments or facility approaches.
  • Sharing an “Atlas Margin” callout internally to prevent over-reliance on a drift-prone note.
  • Submitting a correction with context (date/time/equipment) to improve a sheet on its next review cycle.

Prohibited examples

  • Using the Site as a substitute for official compliance determinations or posted signage.
  • Scraping or harvesting content at scale in a way that burdens the Site or violates applicable law.
  • Submitting false signals, spam, or content intended to mislead operational teams.
  • Attempting to reverse engineer, disrupt, or compromise the Site’s security or availability.
  • Using the Site to promote unsafe, evasive, or noncompliant practices.

3) User submissions (field signals, corrections, and messages)

If you submit a correction, field signal, or message, you represent that you have the right to provide the material and that doing so does not violate law, contract, or confidentiality obligations. You should avoid providing personal data about third parties and should avoid including information you are not authorized to disclose. We may use submissions to improve the atlas content, including by summarizing them into operational reminders and documentation cues. We may redact personal identifiers and may decline to incorporate submissions that cannot be verified or that present safety risks.

Submissions are not guaranteed to be published or acted upon. The catalog has review cycles and prioritization logic. If an issue appears urgent to your operation, you should rely on official channels and your own verification rather than waiting for catalog revision.

Atlas Margin — evidence discipline

High-quality submissions include context: sheet name, date/time, equipment class, what was observed, and (when safe) supporting evidence such as posted signage or a published notice. Vague statements are difficult to use responsibly because they cannot be scoped or verified.

4) Intellectual property

The Site, its design, and its original content (including the structure of sheets, the writing style, and compilation) are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works from Site content beyond reasonable internal operational use without permission. You may share links and short excerpts for internal briefing, provided you maintain context and do not present the excerpt as an authoritative live determination.

5) Third-party links and external sources

The Site may reference or link to third-party sources such as official agency pages, toll operators, or facility instructions. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability, or policies. You should review external sources directly and rely on them for authoritative determinations. Links are provided as a convenience and as an evidence hint, not as an endorsement.

6) Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Geo-Maps.net and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Site. This includes, without limitation, damages related to delays, missed appointments, compliance actions, toll disputes, cargo damage, or operational losses. Your operational decisions must be based on verification, official rules, and your own safety policies.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability; in such cases, limitations apply to the greatest extent permitted. If you are using the Site on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

7) Changes to the Site and these Terms

We may update the Site, modify sheets, or change these Terms. When terms change materially, we will update the effective date shown at the top. Continued use of the Site after a change indicates acceptance of the updated Terms. Because the Site is a reference library, revisions are expected; the update notes provide transparency into content revisions, not real-time condition promises.

8) Governing terms and contact

If you have questions about these Terms, use the Contact Desk page and select “Terms / Policy Question.” Provide a brief description of your question and the page you are referencing. We will respond as operationally as possible, but nothing on the Site should be interpreted as legal advice.
